Character Post I

Character Post I - Maniac Magee (Jeffrey Lionel Magee)

Maniac was born in an ordinary house, in Bridgeport (Spinelli 5). His real name is Jeffrey Lionel Magee (Spinelli 5). Maniac's parents died when he was about 3 years old, and he never had the best childhood because he never had a clear view of hi parents. Amanda Beale was one of Maniac Magee's good friends (Spinelli 13). Maniac was very good at punting a football (Spinelli 14). So if Maniac was good at punting, and he was also good at running, so he must be very athletic. Maniac Magee was also very good at hitting a baseball (Spinelli 25). Jeffrey Magee knocked the world's first frogball for a four-bagger (Spinelli 27). Maniac was not afraid of a challenge because the book says he rescued Arnold Jones from Finsterwald's backyard (Spinelli 28). So Maniac was not afraid of a lot of things. Maniac Never had an official address (Spinelli 29). Therefore, if Maniac never had an address then he was not a spoiled kid. Maniac Magee ran as he wondered (Spinelli 28). So not only was he very athletic, but Maniac also was smart because he often thought about things and he was inquisitive.

  2. Thanks for all the examples you use from the book. The paragraph is rather choppy, but I appreciate how you connect his character to the events in the story. Continue to flesh out his character for an even stronger post.

  3. Good job. You did your citations correctly, and your mechanics were good. You wrote a lot of things that are already obvious to me.
